Josh Update
Well, little Josh is two weeks old now and doing well. We have had a few sleepless nights but generally he is very well behaved, and feeding well.
Thank you to everyone for the kind wishes, cards and gifts.
We celebrated our second wedding anniversary yesterday with a takeaway and are now looking forward to Christmas. x

A Day on the 'Jane'
Well, at my routine check yesterday I was referred to the hospital with high blood pressure and general 'unwellness'. But, after being hooked up to all the monitors and having everything tested I was discharged 8 hours later.
So, it's back to waiting and eating pineapple....

B-Day Approaches
Good morning from a very blustery Isle of Man!!
Well, b-day is coming around fast, there's nothing left to do but wait...which, for me, is frustrating - I don't do 'sitting still' very well! But there are still plenty of appointments to attend, classes to go to and friends to catch up with.
Hip and nerve pain have forced me to slow down a little sooner than I would have liked, but with only a couple of weeks to go it is manageable.
We had a nice visit from Vera this weekend, she had to return home yesterday but we did have a lovely couple of days together.
Lots of Love

A Quick Update
Hi everyone!!
Just a quick update, no major news to tell!
Have seen the consultant and midwife this week, everything is going well. Baby's head has started to engage which is good news and it's unlikely he will change position now. We had a quick mobile scan and sure we saw "Little Boy bits!" but didn't ask, and quite honestly it could have been anything :-)
The nursery is almost ready, the nesting instinct has definitely kicked in, things have been washed that have never even seen the light of day before!
Poor old Tom is hopping around with a bandage and collar after his surgery but doing well.
Conrad is still working hard and looking forward to an extra hour in bed tonight.
Happy Birthday to Kate for Sunday.
Only 5 weeks and 4 days until b-day!
xx

Keeping in touch
Hello! Just thought we would add a little update. Nothing major has happened recently. I am keeping up the aqua classes and also doing lots of cleaning around the house!
Saw the midwife last week, everything seems fine, see her again a week today and also an appointment with the consultant. We have had another antenatal class in which they seemed to take great pleasure in showing us a graphic video and pulling out the forceps!
Unfortunately one of our cats, Tom, has to go in for surgery on his paw this week. It is very worrying (and probably also expensive!)
Emma's Dad stayed for one night over the weekend which was really nice and we are also looking forward to Vera's visit in early November. Conrad is still working very hard at the airport.
We have finally decided on our top three boys and girls names, but it's a secret!

Back to School
So we had our first 'parentcraft' class last night up at Noble's. It was really good to meet some other first time parents and learn more about our options for labour.
We also got to take a look around the maternity ward, delivery suites and special care unit. They also have a beautiful birthing pool.
I am off into Douglas today to buy essentials for my hospital bag, it all seems very real now - only 8 weeks left til b-day!

Checkup day Again!
It was midwife checkup day again this morning. Everything is fine, heard a good heartbeat and the infection seems to be clearing up. I am measuring bigger than my 30 weeks, but this could be for any reason and nothing to worry about! Baby seems to have settled head-down, but plenty of time for this to change!
Also got a family size bottle of Gaviscon for the heartburn!

A minor setback
Well, the Dr confirmed this morning that I have a urinary infection. It's harmless for the baby, mostly just unpleasant for me. But it does mean a course of antibiotics and yet more blood samples to check kidney function!
On a happy note, the aquanatal class was absolutely fantastic, here's hoping I am well enough to go again this week.

A Flurry of Activity
This time last year we were soaking up the sun in Limone - hopefully it's not too long before we go back!
In terms of pregnancy, this week seems to be the time when everything starts to happen. We saw the midwife on Wednesday, everything seems to be as it should and we heard a strong and clear heartbeat. These checkups now become fortnightly.
On Monday is a glucose tolerance test to check for signs of gestational diabetes, and it means not eating after 5pm Sunday - how will I ever cope!?
Thursday is the start of weekly aquanatal classes at the sports centre, which involves gentle stretching and toning exercises.
Also a big Happy Birthday to Martin and Tanya for this week.
